the cure:
This is their latest studio album. It's a retrospective, of sorts, but it's all new music. There is a really good mix of styles, from the dark, moody, early days all the way to the effervescence of wild mood swings. It's a pretty good album, but watch out for the cussing.
:~(

join the dots:
This is a four-disc rares set. It's really quite extensive. I can highly recommend it for any Cure collector, and for only $40, anyone can enjoy it.

greatest hits:
This is a two-disc set of the same songs. The first is the normal version, while the second is all acoustic. Well, they aren't really normal, though. I don't really like it when a band releases a greatest hits cd that isn't the original album versions. I guess it gives people a reason to buy the greatest hits when they already have the originals, but I still don't like it. It's like, that wasn't your greatest hit. That was a remix of your greatest hit.

bloodflowers:
When better for the goth-pop kings to release an album about heartbreak and sadness than Valentine's Day? Unfortunately, this will probably be their last studio release. The mood and lyrics all point to the end. Add to that the greatest hits and rares sets and it's almost enough to make you cry. This is a good album, although quite depressing.

galore:
This is a collection of singles from their second generation (Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me through Wild Mood Swings). It's a find collection and a worthy sequal to Staring At The Sea. Included is the new track, Wrong Number, which is way sweet.

wild mood swings:
I hate to say "this is a good album" for every release, but they all are. Strange Attraction, Mint Car, and Gone were probably the sellers for me. It's a good mix of laid back melancholy and exasperating excitement.

paris:
This is my favourite of the Cure official live releases. I didn't really find Show as great as most people did. I would have preferred a video release of this instead of that. Oh, well... This is from the Wish tour. This has my favourite version of Dressing Up, too.

show:
Here's another Wish tour live release. I'm not quite sure why they decided that the tour needed two live releases, but it isn't my place to complain. I didn't find this to be that exciting. It's a good album, but I like Paris more.

wish:
!!!BUY THIS ALBUM!!!
This is, bar-none, my favourite Cure album. It's like happy-goth. This was my entrance to the Cure. I was brought in by Marideth (not that any of you know her). It has High, Doing The Unstuck, Friday I'm In Love (hello), Cut, and many others. This is a fabulous album. My dad loves the guitars in Cut and he doesn't even like the Cure (or so he claims).

entreat:
Here's a live release from their Disentegration tour. Honestly, I've never really paid attention to this album. I'm not really much of a live album guy. I did love Disentegration, though.

mixed up:
I don't normally like remix albums (Massive Attack Vs. Mad Professor - No Protection comes to mind), but I love this album. This would be a definate recommended buy (you should buy all of them, but especially this one). There are a couple extended versions (including Fascination Street, which I think is better than the original).

disintegration:
This is in the top three. If I could !!!Buy This Album!!! more than once per band (shut up about Mortal), then Disintegration and Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me would get them, too. Every song is a moody ballad. It could be their best album. I'm not sure.

kiss me, kiss me, kiss me:
This is another top three. Please buy it. Please. What's out, though, The Kiss has a cuss word (eek). Why do people cuss? It really doesn't make sense. Anyway, this album probably got more drive time than any other while I lived in KC. Catch, Why Can't I Be You, Just Like Heaven, Hot Hot Hot, The Perfect Girl, and let's not forget Fight!!! If I had to choose five songs in their entire lineup, Cut (from Wish) and Fight would be two of them, I'm sure.

staring at the sea:
This is the singles collection for their first generation of releases (Boy's Don't Cry through The Head). It's a pretty good set and well worth it if you don't want to buy all of their prior albums. Grant, there are still a couple that you should buy, but I can understand if you don't want them all.

the head on the door:
Here's the final album from thier first generation of recordings It has a nice mix of music. Inbetween Days, Six Different Ways, and A Night Like This are probably my favourites.

concert:
I haven't really listened to this, as I just got it. I'm not sure what tour it's from, either. Sorry that I'm not being much help. It has a good song lineup, though.

the top:
The Top and Japanese Whispers are official imports. They are great, too. They have a different sound than the rest of their album and I find it a welcome addition. Shake Dog Shake, Birdmad Girl, Piggy In The Mirror, and Bananafish Bones are easily my favourite tracks.

japanese whispers:
Japanese Whispers is an official import and, I just found out, a collection of b-sides and singles. Let's Go To Bed, Just One Kiss, Speak My Language, etc... are just classic songs. JW and Top are two albums from the first generation that I can highly recommend, in addition to Staring At The Sea.

pornography:
This was a very dark album. I'm not quite sure why they chose the title, but I guess that doesn't matter, to much. One Hundred Years and The Figurehead are probably my fav's from this album.

faith:
Here's another fairly dark release. Primary and Other Voices are pretty good. I especially like the Primary - Red Mix single release, not that it really has much to do with this album, but still.

boys don't cry:
This was kind of like the USA version of Three Imaginary Boys. They both had some of the same tracks, but each had new ones. BDC had Jumping Someone Else's Train, Killing An Arab, and others. Collectors require both. Normals probably just require this.

three imaginary boys:
TIB is their original UK release from 1979. It's like Boys Don't Cry, except it has tracks like Foxy Lady and So What. This would mostly be for the UK fans and collectors.
